We’ve all seen it, it’s happened to the best of us, and we hate when it happens. Birdnesting happens when the bobbin thread knots up when we began to sew. The remedy for this is to pull your bobbin thread to the top. Use the hand wheel to move the needle down into the fabric and back up again (do this only once). Now pull the top thread upwards in order to pull up the bobbin thread. Once the bobbin thread is to the top, backstitch, sew forwards a few stitches, but the threads and continue sewing.
